I have noticed that 30-40 folks a day visit my other blog--Chilly Hollow Stitch Guides. I even occasionally get an email (sgfromchnp@gmail.com) asking me for help finding a guide for a specific canvas. As a stitch guide writer and a friend of many other stitch guide writers, this makes me happy. Thank you all for your support! I'll continue to announce updates and new articles when they are posted to CH Stitch Guides. Remember to use the search function or scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on a keyword that interests you to find information that is beyond the first page.

I've heard that Ridgewood Needlepoint is closing. This is not good news--I have greatly enjoyed Elaine's blog and the shop is always doing something interesting. I don't have the details but apparently the shop sent out emailed notices to their customers recently. I can't say I am really surprised to see a shop close --a shop owner I know slightly confided she pays $6000 a month in rent for a location that's not particularly prime or in a large town!-- but it is not great to hear that such a good shop is closing. The life of a shop owner is not easy and I can see folks would get tired of the grind or want to retire.

In better news, Needlepoint.com's Kathy Schenkel trunk show has arrived. To get 20% off if you are ordering online, use the coupon code Kathy at checkout. The site seems to be down right now but it's early Saturday morning. Hopefully by the time this article publishes on Sunday the broken link will be working.

If you have a shop you love, why not buy something this week? Even a skein of DMC cotton helps pay that rent, you know!

I hate to hear the shop is closing! How sad for us all.
Eileen tells me that she wants to retire and hopes to sell the shop. Her husband has retired, her last child is off to college and they've sold their house to downsize. It's time to retire from shopkeeping and have fun!
The Ridgewood blog is great. I love all the finishing they showcase. I wish the owner and her family the best of luck.
I love their blog, too, Whitney. I do hope the shop sells and the blog continues, even if Eileen retires.
