Lewmew's question about blogs that feature dogs and dog canvases, led me to the A Dragon's Tale website where I found a page all about famous pets from the needlepoint world.

I'd totally forgotten their Spoiled Brats canvases, but....

...their Victorian Pets series was new to me.

They do cats pretty well, too. Check out the Canvas of the Day for a very bored cat and his/her glamorous owner!

I have a couple of dog photos I would love for you to see!! One is mine and the other two Robin B's...photos do not do them justice...all stitch guides by Julia Key Snyder and canvases by Maggie Co, DJ Designs and an artist.

Thanks, Leigh! Which dog is yours? The round, primitive one must be the Maggie while the more realistic dogs must be from Paper Russelss/DJ Designs. They are amazing! You must be so proud to carry those purses.
The primitive Maggie is mine...love the teeth! I stitched the piece found fabric for the outside, found the handles (which I actually owned long before the thought of the canvas!), found a polka dot great fabric for the inside and had the purse made...it is pretty darn cute!
He is cute-cute-cute! And you did a great job picking the materials to have him made up. Does he growl when you try to take your wallet out? LOL
Hi Jane,
Thanks so much for the plug. I haven't worked on my blog for a while but plan
to get back to it this week. If you have a pet or know any stitchers who do, I would
love some more pictures to put in Darcie's pet column. By the way the redhead canvas
was sold to some one who saw it here.
Thanks again,
Debbie Mix

Thanks for letting me know that your yawning cat canvas sold. If it hadn't, I probably would have come calling to see if it could come home with me. Bet you get more requests for it, too! I have two dogs but they don't have much to do with needlepoint by design. You need shop cats and dogs instead! I suppose you've heard that Squiggee Designs is named after Gail Hendrix' dog?
