Welcome to Ancient Egypt! Ruth Schmuff has finished up her latest class, a statue of the goddess Bastet by Tapestry Fair, and posted photographs on her shop blog.

There is another photo at Stitcherie which can be enlarged to see the details of the bead woven collar, the crystal on the chest piece, or the pretty border at the bottom.

The techniques Ruth used can be used for other Egyptian themed pieces. How about adapting some of them to this lovely pair of goddesses from Boots Bailey?

The needle weaving Ruth did would work on this dede Odgen bracelet, too. These are just the first canvases I found with Google's help.

And of course there's another Tapestry Fair Egyptian cat canvas which I will start stitching in a month or so. How am I going to stitch it as well as Ruth did in a totally different style?! The background and bottom border are essentially the same! (Stay tuned on that one.)

UPDATE: Ruth's done!

Here is Ruth's next mystery piece--straight from the fertile brain of Sandra Vargas. She's the Aquamarine Mermaid. Stay tuned on this one, too!
