This article on copyright and how it applies in the United States is both clear and very interesting. It talks about sewing and quilting but the law applies to any hand embroidery technique.

Thank you for posting it, Abby. All kinds of stitchers need to be more aware of copyright to keep those lovely things coming. Once a designer loses control, they often stop designing.
