Ada Hayden of Eye Candy has made the transition to charting software (she uses Stitch Graph from Ursa Software) and is celebrating with a new Bargello ornament design.

Ada has four small Bargello ornaments that are being published in Needlepoint Now magazine this year. This little bonus free chart is the fifth in the series. Here is another version of it. I think this looks like a tiny owl, don't you?

By the way, here is Ursa Software's website. If you are interested in any of their products, make sure you see what computers and operating systems they will run on before you buy.

I'm so excited! About the charting software! I used MacStitch for my cross-stitch designs toward the end of that era of my design business, but it didn't work well for needlepoint. I didn't know Stitch Graph existed! I've just bought it and will be trying it out soon. This will make a world of difference for me when designing counted needlepoint. I had been doing charts and diagrams in Illustrator, which is fine but laborious. I also think Ada's ornament is cute!
Do let us know what you think, SL. I'd never heard of Stitch Graph, either, so I'd like to know what you think when you've given it a good workout. I know Illustrator is a great program but it is also very expensive and labor intensive to master, so an alternative would be fabulous!
Thank you Jane!! Also, further info on Stitch Graph, last week they released a new version, and this one has many new features, some of which I asked them for after using the program for a bit. Their customer support has been wonderful!
