Kreinik noticed this article by the cross stitch site Lord Libidan and drew our attention to it on Facebook. Lord Libidan does cross stitch so everything he says isn't pertinent to us needlepointers, but I think ditching a needle when you finish a project is a smart move.

Great article! I am currently stitching a second project with the same needle and noticed the needle is catching my working thread and snagging it. I was very frustrated and thought my technique had gone to hell, but according to this article it's the needle and not me - yay! New needle it is!!

Amy Bunger says to discard a needle after each project and I generally do that now. Of course my acid hands destroy needles pretty fast, so it really makes sense for me to do so. Hope this works for you, too.
