The owner of the copyright for the now defunct Needlepoint News magazine has kindly reprinted the article on Mrs. Barbara Bush's famous floral needlepoint rug on their website. This was originally in the October/November 1986 issue.

Interesting article! Thanks.
I recall reading about Barbara Bush's needlepoint rug when they were living in the White house. I recall that she said she added in a bunny as a funny reference to Jimmy Carter's Playboy interview. I did a quick google search but I couldn't find anything about it.
Thanks so much; love this article. Does anyone remember her White House tree, with the needlepoint ornaments?
