Clementine Hunter, Artist

Thanks to the Quarter Stitch in New Orleans, I learned about an online biography of Clementine Hunter, famous for her folk art depictions of Creole blacks in the Cane River area of Louisiana near the border with Texas.

The shop sells a lot of her licensed artwork on needlepoint canvas if you are a fan.  Some of her designs are on their website but they have many more which are not.  Please inquire at the shop for details.
