Randy has made some impressive cubes and a triangle using stash and simple patterns. I think these would look great on a table or piled in a pretty glass bowl.
His best tips if you want to try this with your leftovers is to add a row of tent stitch around all outside edges, brace the inner walls with acid free mat board. Then he folds under a canvas edge on each side and glues it. Afterwards the four sides are glued together. Right now Randy leaves the bottom open.
