Fern Ridge Collection has a page of tips on their website you need to visit. Need a ruler? Use your finger to measure an inch. (And from the tip of your middle finger to your elbow is usually 18 inches unless you are a TALL basketball player. This is useful when cutting 18 inches of thread to stitch with.) Have a knot you can't get out of that thread? Flatten it, then use your needle's tip.
