Robotic Uprising: Bedecked and Beadazzled Spring-Summer 2025 Mystery Class

"Robotic Uprising" is going to be the Spring-Early Summer 2025 mystery class at Bedecked and Beadazzled.  This is a David Galchutt design that Ruth Schmuff will embellish with all sorts of magic.  As always, I'll update this article with Ruth's progress reports as she stitches something totally different.

The first lesson covers the blue rays and craters in the background, plus the border is underway and so is the tiny blue planet above the red robot's head.

The red robot comes alive!

Red is nearly done and now Blue is coming to life.

Spoiler: Blue has a dimensional cabochon.

And now Blue is finished.  That "dryer vent" is amazing!

The green robot is done, the rocket is stitched, and there are beaded meteors!

Only one lesson left....

No aliens were harmed in the stitching of this masterpiece.

Here are two of the finished pieces, both spectacular and fun.

Mermaid Curls: The Movie

The latest how to video from Ruth at Bedecked and Beadazzled is how to make fat sausage curls for a mermaid.

Here's how it looks mostly finished.  This is a David Galchutt canvas called "The Sirens," available only at Ruth's shop.

Halloween Mystery Piece for 2022 ("Flying Witch")

Ruth Schmuff has announced the Halloween mystery class at Bedecked and Beadazzled:  David Galchutt's "Flying Witch."  I'll update this article as Ruth posts progress photos.

Those cats!  The witch has a nose and a cheek you won't believe.

The canvas now has moons, stars and bats (and graphs for the stars).

And there are bats and pantaloons.  (and that apron is genius)

Now the witch has hair, a fabulous broom and lots of ruffles.

Pink beaded shoes, a pumpkin with crystal candies, and an elegant moon finish up the design.

Here is the Flying Witch, framed two different ways, both adorable.  Happy Halloween!

The Spring Mystery Revealed: David Galchutt's "The Sirens"

Ruth Schmuff has revealed her Spring 2021 mystery class:  David Galchutt's "The Sirens."

If you like mermaids, you'll love this one.  Stay tuned.  I'll update this article as Ruth reveals each lesson.  The class starts in April 2021 and ends in early June 2021, so let Ruth know now if you want to participate.  More canvases will be available in August 2021 in case you are sorry you didn't sign up.

Hair and sea waves are first.

Halos and ribbon roses and beads!

Ruffles and beads and seaweed and more waves!

And now we have Princess Leia buns on a mermaid (the rest of her hair is spectacular, too).

The seaweed is lovely but that Swarovski fabric on the mermaid tails is fabulous!

The Summer 2020 Mystery Class from Ruth Schmuff (Blissful Alignment)

Ruth Schmuff is going to do her summer mystery class at Bedecked and Beadazzled using David Galchutt's "Blissful Alighment."  Details are here.  I'll update this article as Ruth posts progress reports on each lesson.
https://bedeckedandbeadazzled.com/2020/06/blissful-alignment/

First up, the sun gets blackwork swirls, satin stitch and - bling! (I know, this is Ruth, you aren't surprised by bling.)
https://bedeckedandbeadazzled.com/2020/07/swirls/

We have Bling.  (I know, you are surprised, right?  LOL)
https://bedeckedandbeadazzled.com/2020/08/the-bling-begins/

Ruth tackles the coins next.  And there's a video (second link below).

More coins!  Or are they bubbles or flowers?  No idea but I love them.

More coins!  And we are nearly done!

The finished piece is quite sparkly.

Sudden Realization: The Geisha Mystery

Ruth Schmuff knows just what I like—an elegant and haughty geisha!  This beautiful design from David Galchutt is named "Sudden Realization," and she will be the subject of Ruth's Winter 2019 mystery class.  Stay tuned!
https://bedeckedandbeadazzled.com/2018/11/i-had-a-sudden-realization/

The first lesson is out—and the geisha has a face!  Her under gown is gorgeous.

Ruth has a plan to handle the outlines.

And she uses thread layers and thicknesses to create interest.

Now the geisha has Big Hair! (and pretty sleeves)

The background is mostly in. I love the floating lanterns and the beads in the geisha's hair.

Flowers, flowers and more flowers!  This is the last lesson, so now I cannot wait to see this piece framed.

Ruth Does the Twist for the Camera

I will apologize in advance for those who expect a video of Ruth Schmuff dancing.  But trust me, this is nearly as good!  You will learn how to make a corkscrew stitch and how to make memory thread coils in two separate videos Ruth did for one of her mystery classes, the recently ended "Boo!"
http://www.notyourgrandmothersneedlepoint.com/2017/11/pirate-spider.html

If you want to see more of this canvas, click on the tab that says "Bedecked and Beadazzled Mysteries,"  find David Galchutt's "Boo!" and then click on all the links.

The class itself is available via mail order through Bedecked and Beadazzled, Ruth's shop.

Thanks, Ruth!  We love learning new things and getting an idea of what you teach in your classes.

The Spider is a Pirate (Boo! A Mystery Class) UPDATED

Ruth Schmuff has just revealed the Halloween mystery class at Bedecked and Beadazzled—it's "Boo!" by David Galchuftt an artist that Ruth distributes on needlepoint canvas.
http://www.notyourgrandmothersneedlepoint.com/2017/07/what-shall-we-stitch-for-halloween.html

There's a skeleton in a witch's hat and cape, a spider in a pirate's hat and a pumpkin—who sadly has no hat at all.  There's also tons of candy corn (a must for MY Halloween!) in the side borders.  You can visit Ruth's premises for the class if you sign up quickly but of course Ruth will ship lessons to you if you don't happen to live in the Baltimore area.

Such fun!  I'll update this as Ruth posts class information and lessons.

UPDATE:  First, Ruth creates candy corn from beads.  Halloween isn't Halloween without my favorite candy corn!
http://www.notyourgrandmothersneedlepoint.com/2017/08/want-some-candy.html

UPDATE:  Now Ruth has worked on the skull. He glows in the dark!
http://www.notyourgrandmothersneedlepoint.com/2017/09/skully.html

He really does glow!
http://www.notyourgrandmothersneedlepoint.com/2017/10/boo.html

UPDATE:  The skeleton has a great hat and a lovely glowing purple background.
http://www.notyourgrandmothersneedlepoint.com/2017/09/a-fashionable-fellow.html

UPDATE:  Ruth concentrates on the eyes and creates bony hands and a pumpkin on a stick.
http://www.notyourgrandmothersneedlepoint.com/2017/10/zombie-eyes.html

FINAL UPDATE:  Ruth stitches the spider in his pirate outfit, clutching a candy corn!  Don't miss the instructional videoes Ruth has added.
