Blue Cat in the Jungle Mystery Class

The April-May 2024 mystery project from Ruth at Bedecked and Beadazzled is going to be Johanna Virtanen's "Blue Cat in the Jungle."

As Ruth works the canvas and the mystery is revealed, I'll post updates so you can follow along.

First, Ruth works the background and the black rocks at the bottom of the canvas in subtle stitches.

Next, the cat comes to life.  Those eyes!

And the cat's done! Love the thistles!

Here you see four versions of this piece, all framed differently.  How much fun is that?!

A Summer Mystery: Fifi in Her Garden

Ruth Shmuf has revealed the Summer 2022 mystery class at Bedecked and Beadazzled:  Johanna Viranen's design featuring a dog in a flower garden.  The first class will be June 5 and the last will be August 7.  Sign up ASAP as available canvases are limited.

https://bedeckedandbeadazzled.com/2022/05/fifi/

For the first lesson, Ruth stitched Fifi the puppy in black and white with sparkle and sequins and a strong, clear white.

Now Ruth's working the background and a big pink flower.

There are leaves and a doggy tail!

And the garden is nearly done.

Here are two versions of Fifi in her garden.  Framing does make a huge difference in the final look. (and that turkeywork flower is amazing)

Dog Ears: Mystery Class at Bedecked and Beadazzled

If you like dogs and flowers and butterflies--not to mention light coverage stitches and bling--Ruth Schmuff's next mystery class is for you.   The charming design is by Johanna Virtanen, and the first lesson will be July 18th.  As always, I'll post Ruth's progress here once the classes have passed.

Ruth adds fun (and unexpected) backgrounds.

Now there are flowers, big and little, plus heart buttons and a silvery moon.

The final lesson is the dog.  Those eyes are darling!

Learning to Curve Bullions

Ruth Schmuff's mystery class for Summer 2019 was the "White Cat" from Johanna Virtanen.  One of the flowers in this lesson needs curved bullions so Ruth made a How To Video.

If you don't already own any bullion needles,  and your favorite shop doesn't carry them, here's an online source.  Bullion needles come in either blunt or sharp points and in a variety of lengths.

The Summer Mystery, By Ruth Schmuff UPDATED To Two Mysteries

Ruth Schmuff has revealed the mystery class she'll be teaching at Bedecked and Beadazzled throughout the summer of 2019—Johanna Virtanen's "White Cat."
https://bedeckedandbeadazzled.com/2019/05/whats-up-pussycat/

As always, I'll update this article with Ruth's steps in stitching this charmer as she blogs about each lesson.

UPDATES:  Ruth has started with the background and the cat's body, both using open stitches to allow the paint shading to add depth behind the stitches.

The cat has a body, ears and wonderful eyes.

And the White cat has flowers!

MANY flowers!

Here is White Cat framed. It's wonderful.  The companion piece will be Ruth's mystery class for July-August 2021.

Special Update:  Ruth is adding Johanna Virtanen's "Wings" as a second mystery class because they are so similar.
