The Nordic Gnome (Kurdy Biggs)

Brenda's back from her holidays and stitching Kurdy Biggs' "Nordic Gnome."

And he's nearly done!

Sadly, this adorable piece is a class only at this time but there's plenty of charts on the Threedles website to enchant you.

Santa Gnome (Kurdy Biggs)

Brenda went to EGA's Seminar recently, where she took a Kurdy Biggs class called "Santa Gnome."

It is adorable!  Wish I could handle counted canvaswork.  I'd love to do something like this.

If you are charmed (and not dyslexic like me), you might want to browse Kurdy's website.  I think "Santa Gnome" is a teaching piece only, but there's plenty more charts to enjoy.

New and Not New

MM Designs has a website!  You may not be familiar with March Mattingly's work but those double sided bunnies that are attached at the ears were wildly popular (for good reason) at one time.  I'm glad they are available from MM Designs again.

Charts from Threedles aren't new, either, but Kurdy Biggs has updated her website so you can now order directly.  Hurrah! (Don't miss the videos.  They are very helpful when you are working Jean Hilton-type stitches.)

One Kurdy Biggs Ornament Done, A Second Started UPDATED

Brenda is working on a ANG Workshop by Mail, two charted ornaments on perforated paper designed by Kurdy Biggs.  The first is finished and lovely.

Of course these could be done on needlepoint canvas.  Now we wait to see the second!

By the way, Melita is stitching a second Kurdy Biggs design from the 2021 ANG Seminar.

It's looking very pretty but I highly recommend you work from the center out on these geometric pieces as Brenda recommends.  It's just easier to count and re-count.

UPDATE:  Brenda is stitching both ornaments twice and changing the thread and background color each time.  It's amazing how that changes the emphasis of the design.

ANG's Stitch of the Month for 2022

ANG's Stitch of the Month for 2022 will be Kurdy Biggs' "Kurdy's Medallion."  Thread kits are available from Kurdy herself.

This will be on the ANG website but is for members only.  ANG has put most of their information behind a paywall.
