Washington National Cathedral Tour

The Washington National Cathedral has announced that they will have a special tour of some of the more than 1500 pieces of ecclesiastical needlepoint they own and use on June 14 and 30. See their website for details and to order tickets.

National Cathedral Needlework Symposium

Thanks to Tara's posting on Facebook, I know that the National Cathedral is having a needlework symposium this October.  I would assume the needlepoint kneelers will be prominently mentioned but I think the National Cathedral also has silk and metal embroidered liturgical banners, altar clothes and vestments which will be embroidery.

Needlepoint in the National Cathedral UPDATED

The DMC blog just stumbled across the needlepoint in the National Cathedral in D.C.  It's my impression the late Davie Hyman worked to create some of the designs and there used to be a booklet sold about the needlepoint in the Cathedral shop.  Does anyone have anything more to add?
