The Smart Cookie Award for February Goes to Martha

Someone asked about the clips that are used on the side of frames to attach fabric to the frame, particularly Q Snaps. I found these on Nordic Needle's website. This brand is called Stitch Clips, but I think there are other brands that are similar.

Folks posted that they use library clips or banker clips as well but Martha wins the Smart Cookie Award for February because she uses these clips—

Martha—smart AND stylish!  LOL

An Overview of Frames

Needle in a Haystack covers the various types of frames for needlework that are available in this interesting blog posting.  Although the shop sells many types of frames, the owner usually stitches in hand without a frame so this is a generally unbiased report on what you can use.  It's also very interesting--I had no idea that there was a wooden "square round" hoop available!

The bottom of the article has recommendations as to what type of frame works for what type of project.  This should be very helpful for folks just starting to explore frames or who are venturing into a new type of handwork and want a frame recommendation.  Many thanks to Needle in a Haystack for such useful information!

Are Your Q Snaps Too Big?

This isn't a tip that a needlepointer will use as I don't think Q Snaps are something that work will with needle point canvas, but Pat's tip was so clever I just had to pass it on.

By the way, I use a 3 inch square length of the same type of shelf lining to open jars with sticking lids.
