Stitching a Doiley, a Vase and Flowers: The Movie

The designer Abigail Cecile is stitching one of her own projects, using stitches she's made up. This is an experimental project, sized to be easy to carry around and stitch on at free moments and she's having great fun with it. You can read the explanation or watch the video at the bottom if you are a more visual person. Thanks, Abigail. Good luck with the flowers!

Thread Emergency! UPDATED

I got an email last night from Linda who is desperately looking for at least two more skeins of Planet Earth Silk, Citron 067, Lot 214.  This is a yellow with a tint of lime green.  Linda will take all the skeins of this she can find to finish her project.

If you have this in your stash, please leave a comment below or email me at chillyhollow at hot mail dot com and I'll put you in touch with Linda.  Thanks!

UPDATE:  Linda sent me a photograph of the thread she needs.  She says in person it isn't as green as it looks in the photograph.

Breaking News: The Exclamation Point is Closing in October UPDATED

I just spotted this notice on the Exclamation Point's latest newsletter. They are closing their doors for good October 31st.  Make sure you visit if you are in the area before the last day to thank the shop for their years of service to the needlepoint community.

Tools for the Fingers and Needles

The latest shop newsletter from Amy Bunger has a lovely section on tools to protect fingers and pull needles through canvases.  Some of the tools she recommends are inexpensive and can be found laying about the house.

All of the things Amy mentions can be ordered from her shop if your favorite shop doesn't stock them.
