The Smart Cookie Award for the month goes to Pat Correz who emailed me about her genius way of getting canvases off stretcher bars. Pat uses this:
https://www.staples.com/staples-one-touch-staple-remover-23444-cc/product_763688
You slide the metal fork under your staples or tacks and push down. Up pops the staple or thumb tack. Done!
Note that these have to be ordered online. Staples no longer carries them in stores although you can order online and pick them up at a local Staples location.
Thanks, Pat!

Sheena's on the road, visiting Columbus, Ohio's Louise's Needlework. It looks like she had a great time! I love shop tours. We get to see stores we are not close enough to visit. By the way, click on a photo for a larger view.

Fun with Ruth
Labels:
Bedecked and Beadazzled,
Ruth Schmuff,
Sheena James
Sheena just took an embellishment class at Bedecked and Beadazzled in the Baltimore suburbs. As you can imagine, she had a blast and shares a lot of photos of the work other students were doing in the class. Sheena says that Ruth Schmuff's stitch guides for these classes come bound now, which is a nice touch. Even if you aren't really into painted canvases, do check out the two background stitch diagrams Sheena has created for us. One is perfect for fall designs.

If you are intrigued, Ruth's blog has more photos from this class. All the designs in class have stitch guides available from the shop now.
