Columbus Trade Show and Twitter News

This morning I experimented with Twitter, setting up an account for myself and then finding Amy Bunger's and Needle Nook of La Jolla's Twitter accounts so I could set them up as "friends" and "follow" them. There is a gadget that I can post here that shows my account updates and I did so, then removed it. I didn't like the look or the fact that I have to be signed into my account to display 'tweets' here. The security is rather lax as far as I can tell. Don't want people sending Twitter messages in my name! Janet Perry has a Twitter account and so do a few shops I'm not familiar with.

I'll just watch what happens in Twitterland and report if it is pertinent. I can say folks are enchanted by SharonG's new horses' ass canvases.... LOL (Ho Ho Ho is above. There's a floral group of horses and a graphic blue and gold set, too.) You can see all three rear end canvases on SharonG's blog.

Margaret has already told me there is a Twitter for photos, which I could also look for, but I think I'll draw the line. A lot of needlepoint designers also use Facebook (SharonG and Jody Valentine are there) but I am not sure I want to explore that, either. There is just so much time every day!

In Market News, Chandail Needlework has reported on some of the things they have seen at the Columbus trade show.

Ruth Schmuff has added more information about what she is seeing at the trade show. She talks trends and mentions the Sirens canvases from Leigh I was dying to know more about are six different mermaids. They are all on a beautiful blue canvas background. Can't wait to see them as well as the new small Guadalajara ornaments.

Just learned that Carole Lake's Glitzy Accessories class is available as a charted booklet. What fun!

Finally, Needlepoint.com (a shop in Raleigh, NC) hasn't posted about the trade show yet but they promise to, and their blog is so much fun to read that I am posting the address here.

Hi Jane,

I have resisted being part of both Twitter and Facebook as like you say a girl needs to draw the line somewhere or she will be spending all her time online instead of stitching.

Same here, Pierette. I'm sure these new tools are great to keep up with family and friends but I'm not sure I have the time to do it all.

Marianne, I am chillyhollownp on Twitter but I never intend to post there. I am just there to read the messages from the NP professionals.

I am too long-winded to ever find Twitter useful personally!

I did join the Facebook for Jody Designs, but rarely go there or post. Twitter is beyond my time allowances too!

We need a volunteer blogger to keep up with Facebook and Twitter, don't we? Who posts regularly who wants to monitor these areas for us all?
