I just happened to take another look at Jelly Bean Stock's website and discovered a before and after series of photos on the home page of a witch and cauldron canvas going from plain unstitched to finished ornament topped with a wonderful lime green bow. It shows how inspired stitching and finishing can really add to a plain painted canvas.

From the home page you can click on What's New to see the latest fun. I really like the vases full of flowers but there are all sorts of things to appeal to a variety of tastes.
I'm going to squeeze in another New Thing--the latest Santa from Just Libby. This one is on sale until tomorrow so move fast.

TNNA Columbus 2012 Wrap Up
While I was hauling water, buying ice and bottled water, lots of folks were posting about the TNNA show than ended last week. Vicky DeAngelis and Robin King both worked the Needle Deeva Both and taught at a nearby shop, What's the Point? Here's Robin, talking about her market fun.
http://needlepointstudyhall.blogspot.com/2012/07/tnnacolumbus-2012-wrap-up-part-1.html
http://needlepointstudyhall.blogspot.com/2012/07/tnnacolumbus-2012-wrap-up-part-2.html
Vicky has even more photos of all the goodies we all want to see. Note the Kirk and Hamilton polar bear canvas in the second link. I saw that on display at Woodlawn. Ruth Dilts did a fabulous job stitching it! If I remember correctly, she won a second place ribbon, too.

http://mostlyneedlepoint.com/07/01/the-market-beat-goes-on/
http://mostlyneedlepoint.com/07/02/keepin-cool/
I've already mentioned Ruth Schmuff's latest designs but she just blogged about them, with photos of everything.
http://www.notyourgrandmothersneedlepoint.com/2012/06/whats-new.html
Katherine's posted her favorites on her blog. What are your favorites?
http://bootsandbeads.blogspot.com/2012/06/market-goodies.html
Orna Willis has two new counted pieces, one of which incorporates small polymer clay pieces.

http://ornadesign.blogspot.com/2012/07/from-place-of-frustration-second-new.html
Ada Hayden of Eye Candy allowed one of the cross stitch magazines to chart her Candyland Christmas Tree Farm. Here's the result. It'll please anyone who doesn't want to stitch the painted canvas version of this.
http://eyecandyneedleart.blogspot.com/2012/06/so-what-else-is-new.html
Finally, River Silks took photographs of the pieces on display at Leigh Designs' booth. You'll see three pieces I've stitched, including the center three which use River Silks. Thanks for the photograph. I had no idea how Leigh set up her booth or that three of my models for the company were on display. I did the two on each end and the center Barcelona.

June McKnight Wore a Hat at Columbus

And what a hat it was!!! Luckily Vicky D. was in June's class at TNNA Columbus and took a photograph of June and her class model.
http://mostlyneedlepoint.com/06/29/what-a-week/
June was teaching a piece from one of her books. It's a great little book that I own and recommend just for fun inspiration. I don't stitch many Halloween pieces so I've not actually used any stitches from my copy yet but it is a great eye candy book to slip through on those days when you just don't have the time or energy to stitch. (Turn your sound down before you click on this link.)
http://junemcknight.com/spookystitches.html
By the way, Vicky's article shows a bit of the trade show and Vicky's neighbors near the Needle Deeva booth. There's a photo of the Needle Deeva herself, too!

The staff at Needle Bug in Montgomery are home again from Columbus and sharing photographs of some of the wonderful things they saw there. The Ann Wheat Pace and Whimsey and Grace canvases are new to me. They are beautiful and elegant in their similar color schemes. Bet the Colors of Praise teapots canvas is very popular.

TNNA Columbus is Over UPDATED

TNNA
The shops and designers and tool manufacturers are all leaving Columbus now, heading home. I hope this means that there will be new eye candy for us to see on their websites soon.
Pocket Full of Stitches pointed out there are new items up on the Kathy Schenkel Designs website.
http://www.kathyschenkel.com/new/0.html
Some of Associated Talents' very popular Seaside ornament and mini sock series is available for viewing on their website. Sadly, the charming stitched models aren't pictured yet.
http://www.atneedlepoint.com/CanvasLookup.asp?Category=New%20Arrivals&SubCategory=&QueryPage=0
Painted Pony Designs has added five new angel canvas photos and several new dress form canvases to their Facebook page. Search for Paintedponydesigns Debbiewoodard to see them.
I've managed to get my hands on the new white core Bijoux thread line which is called Glints. That's what you see in the photo above. There are four colors, from left to right : gold (White Gold 423), a lighter gold (Bronze 422), silver (Silver 441) and white (Diamond 491). The white has a slight ivory cast to the white in the spool. Here are the traditional black core colors in case you'd like to compare them. Whether "white core" or "black core" this is a strong, thin metallic thread.
http://www.needlestack.com/WebStore/Thread/Access_Misc.html#Bijoux
UPDATE: Labors of Love has posted new perfume bottle and clip on bird designs on their website.

The Columbus trade show is winding down a bit, which means painted canvas designers are starting to post designs on their websites. Traditionally, designers kept their designs out of sight until the shops who went to the trade show got to see them, and although with blogging and Facebook that tradition is starting to disappear, many designers stick with this procedure.
Ruth Schmuff has introduced several new fairies to her Tis The Season line. She also has added a pair of sisters/friends designs. All come in two sizes so you can pick the larger or smaller depending on your time constraints and how you want to finish the designs. You can see the newest items at the top of this page.
http://www.bedeckedandbeadazzled.com/products.php?catid=17&firstcid=17
Robin King has reported in on the Sunday doings in Columbus. She promises more photographs once she gets home and has computer access. Blogging via smart phone isn't as convenient as using your trusty home computer and good Internet connection!
http://needlepointstudyhall.blogspot.com/2012/06/tnnacolumbus-day-two.html
Amy Bunger's added more new items to her website straight from Columbus.
http://www.amybunger.com/market_items.html
Needle Works has added a new summary page to their blog about all the market goodies, including Sandy Arthur's new NP Shapes book.
http://www.stitchinginthetexashillcountry.com/the_needle_works/2012/06/how-exciting-is-this.html
She has also added a few new photos to the Amy's Golden Strand Facebook photo album from the show. Chaparral Needlework has also added more new photos on their FB page. If you have a Facebook account, search on the names exactly as I wrote them to find the site.
As promised, I've updated the CH Stitch Guides blog with a photo of my latest Leigh Designs project, the small size of Barcelona from the ESPANA series. Now you can see just how good a job I did emphasizing the various areas in this rather abstract design without making any one area too prominent.
http://chstitchguides.blogspot.com/2012/06/introducing-barcelona.html
Leigh has updated her website with photos of all the new small sizes of the ESPANA series and also has posted photographs of her latest Fash Insert pieces, created to fit into the Lee eBook reader covers. The links to each section are on her home page. The eBook covers have a great small dragon, a Chinese lady in all her finery, an homage to Edgar Allen Poe and more. Hint: If you sail, are from Texas or love the little church in the dale, you need to visit these.

The TNNA Report: Saturday We Shop!
Saturday is the actual opening of the TNNA trade show, with all the booths full of shop owners trying to figure out what to buy their customers. Colleen at Needle Works is so excited she can't sleep.

Good thing because she noticed that Melissa Shirley has updated her website with new designs. I wasn't going to check until this afternoon!

Colors of Praise has updated their site, too. Sadly, the amazing white birds rug that What's The Point? posted an image of on their Facebook page is not pictured.

Although most of the newest things are not there, Kirk and Hamilton have posted new florals on their website. These will knock your socks off!

Amy's Golden Strand has not only updated their photo albums on their Facebook page (now 147 photos), some items are up on their website already!

Speaking of Facebook, check Chaparral Needlework's site for new photographs. Raymond Crawford Designs has also added snapshots of shoppers in their booth. I'm using official Facebook names here so you can search out the pages and Like them to keep up with changes in your News Feed if you have a Facebook account.

TNNA
The first day at the TNNA show is Set Up Day. All the vendors spend the day hanging curtains, pinning up canvases on the curtain "walls" and setting up little tables and displays so that shop owners can see everything easily to order goodies to tempt their customers. Robin is helping out at the Needle Deeva booth, so she took photos of everything as it went from huge empty hall to cozy display. Looking at the photos, the first is Associated Talents with their spider leg stands, the second is Barbara Bergsten showing off her cheerful "shift" ornaments, and the last photos are of the Needle Deeva booth being born.

By the way, the Needle Deeva website is updated with photos of all their new things.
http://www.needledeeva.com/whats_new.html
Of course not everyone at the show is a vendor. The really important people are the shop owners. The Needle Bug is there after a very long trip.
http://theneedlebug.com/2012/06/okay-the-twelve-hour-trip-to-columbus/
Not everything runs smoothly. Needle Works is going to have to post show updates to their Facebook page instead of their blog. Search for "The Needle Works" or click on this link if you have a Facebook account.

Speaking of Facebook, Barbara Elmore has a photo of the Sundance booth and Amy's Golden Strand has photos from the Sample It displays. Associated Talents has posted photos of their booth and the Friday evening events on their FB page. Quail Run Needlework Inc. and Serendipity Needleworks both posted photographs from the classes they took on Friday.
UPDATE: What's the Point? is also posting photographs from Market on their FB page. Look for the Kirk and Hamilton pieces and new designs from Melissa Shirley, Maggie, Kathy Schenkel, Renaissance Designs, BB Designs and a white birds rug from Colors of Praise that is to die for.

Ruth Schmuff has released a new stitch guide (written by the wildly talented Sheena James) for another one of her Flirty Girl canvases just in time for the Columbus market. If you need to return to the 1960s, the era of mini skirts, high boots, Carnaby Street and of course long eyelashes and long straight hair with a flip at the ends, this is your canvas.

Stitchers with Facebook accounts can sign in and search for either "Associated Talents" or "The National NeedleArts Association" to see photographs from Columbus posted there. Associated Talents has posted progress photos of their booth building. First there is nothing but drapes, then canvases appear and there's a little table, too. They have even taken a photo of their neighboring booth, Barbara Bergsten Designs. All this has to be set up today (Friday) before the Sample It program tonight.
TNNA has just posted photos of the line of shop owners waiting for Sample It, which doesn't start for hours! Somehow I don't think it is just us stitchers eager to see the newest thing!
If you aren't a FB fan, you can go visit the Eye Candy blog where Ada has posted photographs of her newest designs.
http://eyecandyneedleart.blogspot.com/2012/06/to-market-to-market.html
However, the latest thing isn't always what catches my eye. How about these older canvases that have just come back from the finisher's or framer's?
