Surfin Santa is Done!
Labels:
Joan Thomasson,
Surfin Santa
Surfin Santa is done! The repair looks normal, and the edging all trimmed out. In retrospect, I probably should have used the gold metallic in the Joan Thomasson kit instead of the metallic blue which was so pretty, I failed to think about how gold stitches crammed on top would alter the look. But I do love Santa regardless and enjoyed stitching him greatly.
Joan Thomasson does wonderful designs and her kits are fun, fairly quick to stitch, and easy to finish (if you remember to do ALL the stitches first).

This piece makes me smile every time I see it. It's a delightful bit of whimsy - perfect for these dark, cold days.
Nancy
I feel the same way, Nancy. This was a perfect winter storm project!
Congratulations! Well done Jane.
Jane,
I have enjoyed watching you stitch this one so much. It is a fun piece and looks lovely.
I am even tempted to do it myself :-)

Thanks, everyone!
He is great! I don't mind the blue at all--kind of an ocean fringe looking effect!
Thank you, Pat. I think I'll leave him as is and use the gold trim that Joan included in the kit for another ornament. He's really cute. Wish I was in Hawaii right now....
