Luna's Gown
Labels:

After much work, Luna's couture gown is finished.
The beads are gunmetal gray, crystal lined with silver, and black.
Some beads appear gold in the photos because light is bouncing off the crystal beads.
It was a lot of work but worth it.

I love it - you have done a wonderful job as usual :-)
Pierrette =^..^=
Absolutely smashing - great job and worth all the effort!
You rock, girl
It's stunning! I love the variety of beads.
Nancy
Amazing! Nice, nice, nice!
How did you decide just where to put the beads?
I love your work and am learning so much from your blog "lessons".
If Leigh is not impressed, you need to quit stitching for them............
BREATH TAKING
It looks amazing.
Absolutely stunning! I'm ready for the next phase of Luna.
Oh my god...it is gorgeous!!
Edy, I mostly just placed beads where they seemed to look right. The gown is painted so that you know where the lighter and darker gray areas are, so it is easy to put mostly crystal highlight beads in the light gray areas. But I just put beads where it looked good.
Judy Harper says that you can put a dot of white fabric marker over the intersections where you want beads instead of basketweave but there were so many on this piece I didn't bother. I am sure that if you don't have so many, you could dot the thread intersections and this would work very well.
This is stunning! So realistic that I can almost feel the weight of the beaded gown. You have taken this piece to another level with this work!
WOW! What more can I say?
It is simply stunning Jane - It's been fun to watch it materialize. Melody
Thanks for all the nice compliments. I appreciate it! But they are going to Luna's head. Now she wants a killer cloak, the most fashionable hairstyle and statement jewelry!
Luna is really something! She is on her way to making a fashion statement. :)
Just beautiful!
