A Third Color of Bead
Labels:
beads,
ladies of the night,
Leigh,
LOTN,
Luna
I've added a third color of bead-a transparent gray-silver Delica that I think is size 14 (but the label doesn't say). It provides a highlight at the hem and really looks good in person. The Delica crystal beads are slightly larger than the rounded black and gunmetal beads but not noticeably so since I am not using many of them.
The photo doesn't show the gleam, but they add a bit of life to the hem.

Hi Jane. Looks like Luna's Gown is definitely "Halloween Couture." I am loving the effect with the Beads.
Thanks, Robin. I wish you could see this in person. The third color really adds a great deal of highlight without looking too much different than the gunmetal gray beads because I used gray metallic to attach them.
We wish we could see it in person too, but the picture shows us the depth and detail you are designing the dress with! So, we will all be there for tea and crumpets at two.
It's a date, Pat.
P.S. The beer and pretzels crowd plus the martinis and nuts group are welcome at 2 p.m. as well.
Jane, off to tidy up CH before the guests arrive
A buffet??? Yippee!
Beads are so difficult to photograph effectively, aren't they! Still, looking at the enlargement to see the beads, I'm reminded of how good the tombstone looks..
ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! I like the Delica's. Did you say earlier the size of the first beads?
May I come with wine and cheese?
Christa
I love wine and cheese!
The gray and black beads are size 15 but the crystal ones seem to be 14s.
I'm glad you like the tombstone, Rachel.
Jane, the beads are lovely from what I can see in the enlargement and I'm sure it is perfection in person. Off to grab my keys so I can drop in on the buffet this afternoon. Sorry I'm running a little late!
Hi Jane! Gorgeous gown! Delicas come in 15/0, 10/0, 11/0, and 8/0 and are made by Miyuki, a Japanese firm. 14/0s are usually a Czech size so I'm not sure what you have there. Whatever the bead manufacturer, the gown is getting prettier every day! Pamela, Tucson where it's 88 blissful degrees right now. woohoo.
