If you have a collection of old buttons, Laura Perin's latest long rectangular design (it's called "Long Spring Panel") is a perfect place to showcase them. If you don't, I bet any notions store would be happy to help you find something. Even pretty beads or crystals would work to add a little spring to this lovely design.

By the way, if you want to make a beaded flower on your canvas, Mary Ruth shows just how she did one for the gingerbread house design she's creating. A series of these beaded flowers will be the buttons on the outfit of the gingerbread boy that goes with her gingerbread house.

Wow, Jane. Thanks for making my morning by linking to my buttons.
Morning, Mary Ruth! Can't wait to see more progress on the gingerbread house. Don't be surprised if I link to you. People are always looking for good bead techniques!
Indeed, that is pretty good and thanks for posting. We, beadaholics, appreciate it.
I got that long panel last week and the colors are just amazing. Haven't read the stitches yet but was happy to read here that you can use buttons/embelishments. Just what the doctor ordered :)
Yeah beads! Have fun, Palma. Laura Perin will be amazed at what you pull off on her newest long panel design.
