Purses

Needlepoint purses are some of the loveliest ways to showcase your needle art. We are all familiar with purse canvases from folks like Elizabeth Turner Designs and Melissa Shirley that are especially shaped and designed to be turned into a purse, but as Needle Bug shows, many canvases can function beautifully as pocketbooks of one style or another.

Anyone remember the Brenda Hart book on stitching purses from Red Thread Designs?  Dale has stitched several of them.  They make great little tool bags or an evening purse when you don't need everything and the kitchen sink inside your pocketbook.

Here's It's In The Bag.  Great little book!  Actually, I have a copy I've not opened in several years.  Post a comment below (or email me at chillyhollow at hot mail dot com) and I'll do a random drawing of the names on June 15th and send it to the winner.  There's no need for it to languish here when someone else will treasure and use it.

I love my red thread initial purse. It's finished flat, so i love seeing the other ways similar canvases have bee finished!

Would enjoy stitching more of these!

Would love to have the book. Turn much of my stitching into useful items. And who doesn't love a great bag. Gwen

What a fantastic book to have! I haven't stitched a purse yet, but have been inspired by your posts. I have been browsing Melissa's web site.... Thanks for the give away.

Ooooo . . . what a cool book. As a newbie needlepointer I would love to add this book to my collection.
