BeStitched has a Summer Youth Program, which essentially means young stitchers teaching other young stitchers to needlepoint.

SharonG is going to be at Needle Works in Austin October 18-21 to teach two days of canvas embellishment and a two day class on her Graphic Waves piece. This is hot news and there is nothing on the Needle Works site yet but you can call them for information.

Barbara Bergsten has designed a smaller shift dress canvas in pink and green for the mother/daughter class that Simply Needlepoint has planned for this summer. Here's the canvas.

It is my pleasure to mention the mother/daughter class, Barbara. It's a wonderful concept and I bet there are mothers and daughters close enough to take the class that need to know about it.
You seem to promote only a few of your friends and their shops. There are lots of great shops and classes out their that you never mention so I find you list biased and incomplete. It is the same people and the same shops over and over again. How about promoting others in the needlework world.
Anon, you make a good point. I do mention the same shops over and over. But you have to realize I get my info from shop e-newsletters and websites I stumble across. Many NP shop websites are very bare bones with little info. I look at them once and never return because they don't give a hint of what a vibrant shop is hiding behind the website. I am sure I miss others because I don't happen to find them through word of mouth or through ads in the NP magazines. I think I'll have to ask Blog readers for help finding out about things. That's an even more tedious chore, however, than reading newsletters that clutter my In Box and list sales and classes and shows. So help me out. Tell me about some of the things I've missed. I'm at chilly hollow at hotmail dot com. Thanks!
Personally, as a new stitcher, w/o a LNS and disabled (can walk), I LOVE this. How would I do get anything done in a day if I spent the day looking for trunk shows and classes of my favorite artists? I can't thank you enough! HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
