Amy Bunger's staff have been busy working on her stitch guide catalogue, so I have updated the Chilly Hollow Stitch Guide blog with a link to the catalogue table of contents. You can head over to read the article by clicking on the photo of the magic carpet in Blog's right hand column. To return here, click on the magic carpet again. I've also added a brand new article about the stitch guides available from Needle Nook of La Jolla. Have fun browsing!

Monthly Clubs Update
The fall is when a lot of shops start their monthly clubs for the year. I know lots of stores have signed up for the Needle Deeva Creepy Characters club and the Sassy, Sparkly Socks club from Ruth Schmuff so I won't mention those again. Here are other clubs that have just been announced or just starting. First up is Pocket Full of Stitches' Christmas tags club.

Beth's Needlepoint Nook is doing a Halloween pail of ornaments club using Needle Deeva's designs. This link shows other clubs they've done which are still available. The Kathy Schenkel Santa faces club is an Oldie but Goodie I think a lot of folks will be interested in.

Do Christmas gnomes appeal to your sense of humor? Twigs of Savannah has a set just for you. They also do a Nativity set.

Needlenook of La Jolla is going Halloween with their clubs this year. They offer either a candy apple club or a bat ornament club, both from Kelly Clark Designs.

Want to do your own thing? Pocket Full of Stitches has all twelve of the Raymond Crawford doggy bone canvases for the dog lover who wants to do their own thing and use up stash threads.

I think these are enough clubs for now. I'll be back with new ones later on.

Newsletters, A Magazine and a Book
Before I forget, three new February shop newsletters are available for your browsing pleasure. In alphabetical order they are:
http://www.needlenookoflajolla.com/
http://theneedleworks.com/
http://www.stitchesintimeneedlepoint.com/
Click on the links to enjoy.
I've also discovered that Ann Strite-Kurz has a new book of her charted designs coming out in the early summer. As usual, she offers a pre-order discount and group orders also receive free shipping. If you enjoyed Ann's article in the January-February 2010 Needlepoint Now, you will want to grab a copy while it is discounted.

Speaking of NP Now, some back issues of this great magazine are on sale. Details are on their home page.
http://www.needlepointnow.com/
If you are interested a bit about the upcoming March-April issue of the magazine is on the editor's blog.

Sophisticated Socks
Labels:
Kelly Clark,
monthly clubs,
Needle Nook of La Jolla

Since I showed off one insider shop photo yesterday, I thought I'd show off another today. The great picture above is the stitched version of one of the Kelly Clark Sophisticated Socks that are a monthly club from Needle Nook of La Jolla. I begged, pleaded and whined until I got my hands on a photo of a finished sock. This club just started and the photos of the socks stitched aren't available but I got my hands on one.
You can see all the naked canvases here.

Hopefully all the stitched sock photos will be posted here soon. Until then, click on a sock and the large photo beneath will show it in detail.

Volunteers Needed
Labels:
Kelly Clark,
monthly clubs,
Needle Nook of La Jolla
Ok, who wants to volunteer to knit socks like these for me? I'm even willing to take two with different patterns!
http://www.needlenookoflajolla.com/events/kclarksocks/index.html
Seriously, these are the Kelly Clark mini-socks which Needle Nook of La Jolla are offering as a Sophisticated Sock canvas series. I think they are very interesting looking. I'll be curious as to how they are stitched. Any chance of a preview, Vicky?
