Stephanie at Ridgewood Needlepoint wanted a background that looked like lace, and finally settled on this two part beauty-

She's also included a more solid background that also looks lacy.  Thanks, Stephanie!

SJ Designs Introduces "Heirloom Lace Sampler"

Needlepointers who like samplers will be thrilled with the new chart by Susan Johnson of SJ Designs—"Heirloom Lace Sampler."

Susan says this is stitched on 18 count needlepoint canvas using two layers of simple stitches to give the illusion of lace over velvet.  You can pick up the chart at the SJ Designs website.

Aficots and Lobster Claws

I'd never heard of Aficots and Lobster Claws, either!   The video shows the aficot being used about half way through the film, by the way.

Many thanks to Mary Corbet for broadening our horizons.

(And thanks to Vicky DeAngelis for helping me spell "aficot" correctly despite auto-correct!)
