Cohana Seam Rippers

Chandail carries something I've not seen before--seam rippers made by Cohana.  The glazed tile handles come in two colors, white and gray, each with a coordinating tassel.

Cohana is the Japanese company that makes wonderful scissors.  Here are their embroidery scissors.  I've been lusting after a pair.  These sometimes come in limited edition colors, too.  But shop around.  Prices vary.

The Seam Fix

BeStitched has found a wonderful tool for ripping out--the Seam Fix.

Looks like they come in two sizes and assorted colors.

Shop around, as prices vary.

Ripping Out: The Movie

Lori of Waste Knot continues her tutorials on basic needlepoint skills with a video about ripping out stitches.

Lori's using a folding seam ripper from Bohin.  I own one and really like it as you can easily flip the cover over to protect the point. Shop around if your favorite store doesn't carry these as the price varies a lot.

A Handmade Seam Ripper-Awl Combination Tool

Although I'm not a sampler person, I do occasionally watch the videos about the samplers that Hands Across the Sea charts for sale.  This week Nicola showed off a hand made seam ripper that she prefers to the traditional type.  It's easier for her to hold and doesn't stress her neck as much.

If you are interested, these can be purchased from Alan's Pen Making in Australia.  Contact Alan through his Facebook page.  You can pick the handle color and also specify whether you want an awl/seam ripper style or the big-small seam ripper style, although Alan was sold out of the big-small seam ripper style the end of July.
