Thread Storage: Not For Sissies

We all face the problem of how to store our stash of threads, canvases, stitching books and tools, but very few of us are trying to store things in an RV!  Julie's up to the challenge, though.  You'll enjoy her very creative way of storing threads and her words of wisdom about how we decide what to keep and what to discard in life.

Soul Theft

Janet Granger, who creates miniature embroidery kits for dollhouse collectors, talks about something unusual today--the theft of our needlework.  She's right, we should cherish our stitching while we have it.  Losing it is a theft of our souls in a way.  I can't imagine how the folks who lost their stitching and their homes to wildfires out West this season feel.

The Very Latest TNNA News

Melissa Shirley has posted photographs of her newest pieces on her website.   Everything is from Debbie Mumm (Melissa Shirley Designs has adopted her artwork to needlepoint) except for the Texas basket which is Melissa's design.

Quail Run not only has a shop, they distribute canvases.  Here are some of the new items they are taking to Baltimore.  They promise updates from Market, too, and they delivered. The second link below is about the SharonG class they took.

Morning Meeting Redeux

The new "Have You Seen This Canvas?" tab has turned up some information about the Morning Meeting canvas that at least two people are interested in acquiring.   But you'll have to head to the tab to see what I found out.  I'm trying to encourage people to check that area for updates once a week. I can't promise to have any but this week I do.  I've also added a new article to the Chilly Hollow Stitch Guides blog.  You can ride the magic carpet there.  Just click on the photo in the right hand column....

I expect to have an update tonight about all the goings on at the TNNA Baltimore meeting.  Folks are there already, setting up their booths or taking classes and generally having fun.  If there are updates, I'll post them tonight after supper.  Stay tuned!

To add eye candy and links to this article, Needlepoint.com has added a new feature to their website--they have a page of autumn-themed designs to get you in the mood for cooler weather.

New LizArt

Liz Morrow has just announced two new designs on her blog.  LizArt does bargello designs with a twist, and the two new patterns have bargello backgrounds with a cat or an orchid as the central design element.  There's a link to Liz's website to buy the charts, too.
