Free from the DMC Pattern Archives

DMC has been around for hundreds of years at this point. They have a free chart section on their website that releases old patterns periodically, so you can stitch all sorts of interesting patterns from the past.  The downloads are free but for a few dollars you can order a kit with the threads used.

I think most of the designs were intended for cross stitch but many appear to be full cross stitches so they can easily be done on needlepoint canvas.

The Needle Park Avenue

Those of us working a piece with a lot of color changes have to figure out how to organize our threads so that we don't spend more time threading up and putting away than stitching.  The Needle Park Avenue is a good way to keep your needles with all those colors organized and handy.  Here's a bit about how it works.

SJ Designs Introduces "Heirloom Lace Sampler"

Needlepointers who like samplers will be thrilled with the new chart by Susan Johnson of SJ Designs—"Heirloom Lace Sampler."

Susan says this is stitched on 18 count needlepoint canvas using two layers of simple stitches to give the illusion of lace over velvet.  You can pick up the chart at the SJ Designs website.
