Breaking News: New Kreinik Machines on the Way

Fleur de Paris has ordered new machinery to make Kreinik metallics and they should arrive soon.

This should speed up delivery of Kreinik to the shops and the other thread manufacturers who dye Kreinik in their own colors, such as ThreadworX.

The New Jersey Needle Artists Chapter of ANG charms us again with their August 2024 newsletter.

Besides the usual new product (a very nice large nylon tote from Penny Linn and a big canvas one from Chaparral), SCT's new charted monogram book, a new designer (DBL Designs, distributed by Atlantic Blue), classes, clubs, a tour of Morgan Julia's new studio space, we learn that KC Needlepoint will do a plain zippered clutch in only three weeks.  Plus Ellen Johnson divides us into four groups according to our needlepoint style.  I'm eclectic.  What are you?

Adding a Bow: The Movie

Today's brief embellishment lesson is on The Wool and The Floss's Instagram account and demonstrates how to add a bow to your needlepoint.

Treenway silk ribbon is 3.5 mm wide while River Silks' ribbons are 4 mm, 7 mm or 13 mm.  The width doesn't matter.  The process is the same whether you use skinny ribbons or wide ones.  You don't really have to use chenille needles, either, but they do really help as they are sharp and have a nice sized eye for flat ribbon-like threads.
