The Sunflower Heart in the Depths of Winter (JudyAnn)

Melita is treating herself to a JudyAnn heart as a break from a more complicated project.

The heart features a sunflower.  Melita is using the Ginny Stapleton stitch guide published in ANG's Needle Pointers (the July-August 2025 issue) for this and five other JudyAnn hearts.  It turned out great!

The finishing is lovely, too.

If you are charmed, you can order JudyAnn's designs from her website or her Etsy shop.

Porte Bonheur (or Lucky Charm) from Clover

Shirley Chin just returned from a trip to Japan where she visited the Miyuki bead store, a fabric store, and a Japanese needlework supplies store.  She and Toni Gerdes do an unboxing.  She purchased Delica beads and Porte Bonheur tools (made by Clover but only available in Japan), plus DMC Japan only tool lines, special little boxes, hand made needles and more.

Here are the little boxes she bought from Misuyabari in Kyoto.  Most are sewing kits, with lovely little tools inside.

If you want to see more about the various places Shirley visited, scroll down to May 1, 2025 on the San Diego Chapter ANG website and start exploring.

Breaking News: Scam Website

Zecca just posted this to Facebook's Needlepoint Nation:

"I just became aware of a scam website I think everyone should be aware of. It pretends to be an online seller of needlepoint with too good to be true prices. It is not real!!!!!! needleworkart.com
Do not give them any information. It is not a real shop."

I suggest folks not even click on the link.  Even looking at websites like this can be dangerous.  Thanks for the heads up, Zecca!

Threadaholic Alert: Bisous

Tilli Thomas' newest thread--a silk/wool blend called Bisous--is appearing in the shops.

This Planet Earth thread is a thin, single strand of half Merino wool, half silk.  KC Needlepoint says it is thinner than Essentials.  It comes in 30 yard skeins and Planet Earth describes it as "suitable for 18 and 16 mesh."  Rittenhouse recommends 2 strands on 18 count and 3 on 13 count for full coverage.

You can see photos of the colors at this link.
