Stars: Vivian Leigh Finished
I'm sure you are thinking About Time Vivian was finished! I know I am.
Tomorrow Blog should return to the painted canvas side of needlepoint as I pick up my British Dynasty ornament and start stitching the lion.
In other news, Sandra Gilmore is making a surprise personal appearance at The Chaparral today (April 28) from 1-4 p.m. There will be refreshments plus a mini truck show and sale of her Once in a Blue Moon canvases. If you happen to be in Houston today, stop by. Here's contact info and a map.

By the way, if you click on the photo of the little Victorian Fourth of July girl at the Chaparral site, you can see their new monthly series of these vintage Melissa Shirley designs. I love the little drummer boy and his parade outfit!

Congratulations! Very nice.
Stopped by Chaparral today for Sandra Gilmore's appearance. It was great! Lots of canvases from her and lots from the market in Dallas.
I'm glad someone representing Blog got to go see Sandra Gilmore and her designs. She does beautiful work. Congratulations, Anon!
Wow - That's a lot of padding on the lion! I've never padded more than one layer before, so will be anxious to see how it turns out. The ornament looks great so far.
Peggi, two layers aren't much more than one layer when you use layers of thread to raise the area you are about to stitch. Now if I were using cotton batting or felt or cotton makeup remover pads, two layers would be much higher.
You can use a ton of things for padding: beads, Q-tips, bolts and washers, string, carpet padding. Lots of things!
The effect varies but the general process is the same.
