Stars: Pretty Framework and More

Last night I managed to lay in the black triangles that are arranged around the central points of the design, making it easier to start the trellis stitch framework that separates the corners from the central star area.  Isn't it pretty?  I think this has been the most difficult square so far because so much of the stitching is on the oblique instead of matching to the NP canvas grid.

There are two more layers of trellis stitches on top of the bottom black layer, so I probably won't get to another section done for tomorrow, but that's ok.  I want to get this right.

In St. Charles news, Barbara Bergsten has posted photos of her new designs for the St. Charles show on her blog.  She specializes in bold, modern graphics that are easy to stitch with fancy stitches, and posts guides for the canvases on her website for easy downloads.  That's a very nice touch!

Needle Delights has new charts.  See Janet Perry's blog for details and a link to the Needle Delights website.  Since some folks are stitching some of the new pieces as mysteries, I won't give the direct link.  Gotta preserve the mystery, you know!

Laura Perin is working another Long Panel and it's a beauty.  You can see it underway on her blog.  This is the fall one and the earlier design is spring.  Two more to go!

It's October 1st and you know what that means...

Yes, it's time for another Amy Bunger newsletter.  This one is all about Halloween, with canvases, a charted Boo and Eeek for your backgrounds, and much more.

Finally, Melissa Shirley updated her site with her new designs last night. All the new things are licensed designs from the artist Debbie Mumm.  There are Halloween and fall patterns and Twelve Days of Christmas topiaries which are different and very pretty.  Have fun exploring!
