Cottage Garden Threads

Melita is having great fun at the ANG Seminar in Tucson.  She picked up some overdyed threads from an Australian company called Cottage Garden Threads.

Here is the company's website.  Looks like they sell cotton floss plus size 8 and 12 perle cotton.

You can find single skeins on Etsy but be careful to buy enough of the same dyelot if you need to cover a large area.  This thread is often available in quilting shops apparently, so if there is a quilting emporium in your area, inquire if they carry Cottage Garden Threads.

I also found a nice selection available through Terry Bay Needlework Designs.  I am not sure where the shop is located (the website doesn't say) but it's somewhere in the USA, I think.

Cottage Garden Threads Display

Threadaholics will love looking at the stitched sampler of all the Cottage Garden Threads that were available up until last fall.   Cottage Garden Threads is an Australian company that specializes in overdyed cottons so seeing each color name stitched gives you a wonderful idea of the effect of each overdye.

This is a new company and their threads aren't readily available in the U.S. but they are worth seeking out if you need a special color or just want to play with something new ordered from Australia.

A Glimpse of the New

Patt and Lee Belt
Janet Perry has written a posting about new threads, charts and painted canvases which are being released.  Sadly, there are no photos for us visual people.

Luckily Scarlet Thread believes in eye candy!  Want to see some new counted canvaswork pieces?  This is the place.

More Christmas Belt
Plus several designers have posted photos of their new painted canvases.  Want to see the new belts from Patt and Lee?  Scroll through the last few blog entries on their blog.  Check out the Christmas belt.  It has a LOT of possibilities!  I  like it so much I've posted a series of photos of different parts of the belt throughout this article.

Squiggee is going to put their new things on their website as they are created.  This is very good news for shops who can't make the trade shows.  Easy ordering from the Temptress of Painted Canvases....

Here is the newest thread from the Society of Soie Surfine.

Even more festive belt
Here are the new colors from Cottage Garden Threads.  All those photos are going to be very helpful for those trying to pick new colors for a project.

Finally, I have a review of Julia Snyder's latest book of blackwork patterns.
