Brown Bunny: Fall and Winter 2024 Mystery Class

Ruth Schmuff just announced her fall and winter 2024 mystery class--"Brown Bunny" by Strictly Christmas.

I can't wait to see the magic Ruth comes up with!

The bunny has the cutest tail and belly! (You'll learn Colonial Knots and laid stitches from Ruth on her blog here.)

Trees, pretty trees!

Next Ruth tackled the fields.  They look fabulous in my opinion.

The last area will be all the flowers and leaves.

But there's more!  We are all surprised <not> that Ruth decided on more bling!

If you are curious about hot fix crystals, here is what the gadget looks like.  The various tip sizes map to the diameter of the flat back crystals which have glue on the back side that the heat activates.

Here is Ruth's video showing how to attach hot fix crystals to your canvas.

And just in time for Easter, here's Brown Bunny all framed and ready!

Strictly Christmas Has a Blog

Break out the bookmarks--Strictly Christmas has started a blog!  It's full of news (they are adding Ann Scott Designs to their line) and fun, too.

I've added it to the Blog List down below the koi pond in the right hand column of this page.

Breaking News: Strictly Christmas Has a Facebook Page!

Strictly Christmas Needlepoint has set up a Facebook page and is in the process of creating a website. I am very happy.  These fabulous designs need to be exposed on the Internet for those who have never seen them in a shop.
https://www.facebook.com/StrictlyChristmasNeedlepoint/

The website isn't ready yet but the Facebook page says they hope it will be available for browsing before the end of June 2016.

Leigh Designs Goes to Market UPDATED

Leigh's Seashore Santas in Deux Bijoux Bijoux Double Tray

Leigh Design's monthly newsletter is out and it is full of news from the San Diego TNNA Market.
http://www.leighdesigns.com/News/

I assembled as many links as I could find to the things Leigh mentioned in the newsletter.  Her Deux Bijoux Bijoux tray, complete with Seashore Santas, that a shop took home is pictured above since I know it's not on the DBB website yet.

UPDATE:  Deux Bijoux Bijoux has updated their website with all the new trays, frames and such that came out during the San Diego show.

You can see the four available Santas who are at the beach and the crowns Leigh mentions on her website.  I believe four more Santas in this set will appear in June at the TNNA summer show.

Here is Nenah Stone's longhorn.  While I was searching for it, I discovered there is a similar stocking (second link below).

I don't think Strictly Christmas has an online presence but I did find a sock monkey with Christmas tree on eBay that is cuter than cute.

You can read about the newest StitchPlay books on Michael Boren and Carole Lake's website.

Rainbow Gallery hasn't updated their website yet but you can see the Entice, Capri and Silk Lame colors from this fall there.

Leigh's already told you how dangerous it is to get anywhere near Hug Me bags.  But if you are feeling brave, here is their website.  The pretty red Passport fabric is on the right side, third row from the bottom.

I didn't find a photograph but you can read about the Stumpwork Implement Kit from Access Commodities here.

Here is a bit about the Spanish style gold work class Leigh mentions.  For more of her jaw-dropping work, visit her blog in the second link below.

Hope you had fun reading about the show from the Leigh perspective!

Ornaments for the Wheel Obsessed Set

If you happen to have someone obsessed with wheels and motors you'd like to stitch for, Pocket Full of Stitches has posted photographs of the little ornaments from Strictly Christmas that cater to the small boy and girl in all of us.   These can be hard to find so I hope this helps those who want a motorized Christmas.

Victoria Classics Holiday Bliss Special Edition

Thanks to Patti P's posting on Facebook, I discovered the Victoria magazine special Christmas edition for 2013 has a three page spread on needlepoint stockings, featuring Strictly Christmas stockings with the help of Needleworks of Birmingham.  This is a special edition so if you subscribe you won't get this issue.  Hopefully you have a local bookstore with a copy or you can order online.

The Old Crows and More from Baltimore TNNA

The Old Crows are available for viewing on the Leigh Designs website. My Night Rider and Sandy Arthur's Night Cap also have photos of the models we did for Leigh Designs. Click on the photo of the bare canvas to see the stitched versions when you arrive at those canvases.
http://www.leighdesigns.com/Grp515x.html

The photo above of Night Rider shows the brown marbling on the sage green canvas well.  All the Old Crows have metallic paint although that is hard to see in the photos.  These are 10x10 designs on 18 count canvas.  Because this series has stitch guides ready to order, I also put information and another photo of Night Rider on the CH Stitch Guides blog.  Ride the magic carpet or follow the link, your choice.

Kristine Kingston (who lives in the Baltimore area, lucky girl) has a lovely long report of everything she's seen at Market, including a booklet and canvas from Kelly Clark that talks about the stumpwork techniques she uses.  This is a nice long report. Bless you, Kristine!

Sara Leigh has added lots of new counted canvaswork pieces to her site, along with her trademark photos of the threads needed.  That makes it just that much more tempting, doesn't it?  Don't miss the new Kurdy Briggs!

Quail Run  has found a magic wand.  Wonder if it is related to my magic carpet?  LOL

Vicky is still eating.   You know, now I am hungry!  If you'll excuse me a minute....
