The Rainbow Butterfly

Melita is mustering various resources as she contemplates stitching Laurel Burch's "Rainbow Butterfly," distributed by Danji.

The body of the butterfly is finished.  This is going to look amazing!

The top orange to yellow wing section is done.

Note that Melita used an interesting technique to make the same sized beads look larger/smaller.

Stumpwork Butterflies and Moths

Jane Nicholas has a new book out.   It is called Stumpwork Butterflies and Moths and it looks to be amazing!  I haven't seen it in prson but Mary Corbet has done one of her thorough reviews about it here--

Jane is a specialist in stumpwork and has written a great many books on this topic.  Her dragonflies one is especially wonderful to me, but they are all worth looking for.  Thanks for the tip, Mary!

Laura Says Whoops!

Poor Laura Perin has discovered mistakes in her new Bargello and Butterfly chart.  Rats!  Fortunately, the mistakes are small ones.  There's a missing thread and two symbols on the chart are linked to the wrong colors.  Switch them and you are good to go!

She's also found a typo in the Bargello and Carnations chart.

Butterfly Ornaments of the Month

Thistle Needleworks has the only charted monthly club I know about.  This year it is butterfly ornaments in a series called Butterfly Garden. Click on each butterfly to see it stitched up next to the plain canvas.  Aren't they beautiful?!

Many thanks to Thistle for filling a hole in the counted canvas worker's options.
