Wire Trees for Display

While looking for something else on Etsy,  I stumbled across these makers of metal tree art which might serve as very nice ways to display your ornaments.

A lot depends on your personal style and how much space you have, but hopefully these will give you ideas.

New Display Idea for Ornaments

One of Gay Ann Rogers' students uses this branched coat rack to display her ornaments.

They looked fabulous in the picture Gay Ann shared (which I'm not posting here as I don't have permission to share).

Trees for Ornament Display

Stitch by Stitch Larchmont has a lovely selection of display trees for you to admire.  The shop isn't selling them, these are all from Pier One, but now is a good time to check out Pier One and similar stores for display ideas.

Make Your Own Display Stands

Thanks to Tara, I have a link to a great tutorial on how to make your own display stands or easels for flat backed stitched items.  It's clever, it's easy and it is fun to customize your own look with ribbon, buttons, scrapbooking decorations and beads.

Acrylic Displays with UV Protection

Janet Brandt just ordered a display box for her 17th Century style stumpwork casket. She wanted to keep dust off and the sun from fading her work. You can see what she found here.

This is the company she ordered from.  They appear to have all sorts of stands, cases and easels.  I don't see much about UV protection, though.  If you see something that meets your needs, I suggest you talk to the company about whether it will minimizing fading before you order.

Still Another Smart Cookie: Magnets Display Board

Bess just won the Smart Cookie Award this week with her use of this Ikea Magnetic Board to keep her needle minders in order.

"Skurar" seems to refer to a punched hole lace style of item. Ikea has a lot of things in this style available if you want to coordinate your stitching nest. Here is the magnetic board from the Ikea website.

Pam's Table

Pam is raving about her new custom display table for a canvas she is stitching for her daughter.  The builder has an Etsy shop where you can see Pam's table.  The wood is reclaimed and she says the carpenter was great to work with.  Thanks for the recommendation, Pam!

Need a Tree?

This year Needlenook of La Jolla is doing a monthly club of ornaments for display called Trim-A-Tree Club.
http://store.needlenook.com/Trim-A-Tree-Club-p36987.html

The tree that is free if you participate in the club is also available for sale if you aren't doing the club. Since it is quite a nice metal tree, I thought I'd post the information here since so many of us are always on the lookout for an ornament display item.  Please note that the tree is now only available in brown although the photograph appears to be of a black iron tree.
