Ghost Stitcher Client ID #9865, Project 50008 UPDATED

Did you use Ghost Stitchers, the update New York stitching service that closed unexpectedly in the late summer of 2013 when the co-owner died?   I wrote about this last year and this weekend one of the ghost stitchers turned up with a project they would like to return to their owner.
http://chillyhollownp.blogspot.com/2013/10/fyi-ghost-stitchers-is-no-more.html

It is a counted cross stitch project from Sunset.  The client id is 9865 and the project number is 50008.  If this is yours, let me know by commenting here or email me at chillyhollow at hot mail dot com.  The ghost stitcher would like to return the project but they don't know who owns it.

Spread the word, ok?  Thanks.

UPDATE:  The owner of Project 50008 has surfaced so if you have this project, please let Sheila at solsufka@xplornet.ca know.

Introducing Little Red Finch

We have a new designer--Little Red Finch! Right now the bulk of her designs are geared toward Minnesota stitchers, but that will change as the company gets off the ground.

With Ghost Stitchers apparently no more, I thought I'd collect a list of shops that offer stitching services.   I've been told the following shops offer stitching services.  I don't know the cost, the quality of the work, or anything else about their services.  For details, email or call the shop closest to you.  In no particular order, here they are:

FYI-Ghost Stitchers is No More UPDATED

For those who might be contemplating using their stitching services, a friend in the area where the business is located says she has learned they are effectively out of business. So don't send anything to them, ok?   My friend's sources are very reliable or I wouldn't be printing this rumor.  Their website is still there but apparently they are no longer operating.

UPDATE:  Cindy tells me that she has been told Ghost Stitchers was run by a husband and wife with stitchers to do the work.  He died suddenly and the wife hasn't the heart to carry on alone as he was the driving force of the business.  It is very sad.

Interesting Christmas Ideas UPDATED

The Needlework Retailer News posted a very good reminder on their site this week--Ghost Stitchers can stitch your stocking and make it up, too!  It probably is too late for this holiday season but they come around every year.  Be prepared for Christmas 2013!
http://yarntree.typepad.com/needlework_news/2012/11/ghoststitchers-can-stitch-and-finish-your-needlepoint-into-a-stocking.html

Kreinik talks about a new product used in a way I never would have imagined!  They sell something called Conductive Fingertip Yarn, which allows you to touch those touchscreens in use everywhere without taking off your gloves.  Here's how it works.  There's a link to the Kreinik site with a photo of the thread in the article but I am repeating the link below,  just in case this article disappears later.  Folks need gloves for their smart phones in 2013 and 2014 and beyond, you know.

UPDATE:  Yesterday I got a comment that said the Kreinik links don't work.  I found the second posting on their website another place and corrected that link but the first has been deleted. Just discovered why!
