Betty White's Needlepoint at Auction UPDATED

Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills will auction items from Betty White's estate September 23-25, 2022.

The two needlepoint items offered are "...an orange needlepoint director's chair decorated with owls and reading "Allen" on the seat back made by White for her husband [Allan Ludden]" and "a large and beautiful decorative needlepoint wall hanging of exotic birds and butterflies which includes a photograph of White sitting while working on this needlepoint."

I think needlepoint pillows will likely also be available but can't confirm that until the auction goes live on Julien's website.  I've found several articles about Ms. White needlepointing various items.

UPDATE:  Stitch Stash won three items from the auction!  The two floral pillow canvases (not made up) are 29 x 27 inches while the shell rug is 49 x 48 inches.

UPDATE #2:  The floral pillow canvases (all stitched by Betty, none of that Just-Stitch-The-Background stuff) are now made up into chairs.

Attaching a Sawtooth Hanger

Kelly of Starke Art posted photos showing how to sew a sawtooth hanger to the back of a sign or something similar to hang on the wall.  She recommends you sew through the foam core in the center, not just the fabric, to secure it.

Do You Like Doll Houses?

Do you like doll houses? I do, partly because the rugs and wall hangings and cushions and footstools are usually done on needlepoint canvas or silk gauze.   And partly because my cousin and her husband built them from scratch as a hobby.  Janet Granger likes them, too, and designs the needlework that furnishes many a doll house.  She just posted a customer's house, one that is Tudor.  It's a fun browse.
