I have to admit I've never seen anything like this!

The finisher who created this is Vikki's Stuff. Here is her website. I didn't find the corset there, sadly.

Many thanks to Bettie for spotting this and for Cynthia who knew the finisher who created it.

Cecilia found a list of the old Paternayan colors converted to the newer numbers online.

I don't know if the "new" numbers are those that are available now or not. I'm waiting to hear from Cecilia where she found this information online.

Threadaholic Alert: Aurora from The ThreadGatherer
Labels:
Aurora,
Thread Gatherer,
threads
There's a new thread available from The ThreadGatherer, a mix of kid mohair, silk and nylon, that is called Aurora. You can see the colors and read how to use it on The Needlepointer's website.
https://www.theneedlepointer.com/product/aurora-by-the-threadgatherer/
There are even better photos of skeins on the ThreadGatherer's website although they don't have as many colors shown right now. It looks like a lovely thread if you need a touch of sheen for that special sweater or outfit on a canvas. Bet it makes spectacular fur and witch hair, too!

Treenway Silks
Treenway Silks has a new thread that they call Silk Eyelash. It comes in black, white and three shades of gray/charcoal.
https://yarntree.typepad.com/needlework_news/2019/01/silk-eyelash.html
If your favorite shop doesn't carry Treenway Silks, you can order via their website. Please note that this is a small company and if they are on the road (check schedule on their home page), they won't ship an order until they are back home again.

Many thanks to Needlework Retailer for the heads up!
UPDATE: Here is what Eyelash looks like in closeup. Many thanks to Come to the Point!

Finding Shops on the Road
Labels:
NeedleTravel,
shops,
travel
The place to find shops that sell needlepoint shops seems to be NeedleTravel.com. Their online database allows you to mark the sorts of stitching shops you are interested in and what state(s) you need information on. I think it would be wise to call the shop before you go to make sure they will be open when you can get there, however. Small businesses don't always have the time or personnel to update their website especially when there is a family emergency or bad weather.

By the way, they have a travel guide paperback you can purchase if that's more convenient for you. Just toss it in the glove compartment of your car and off you go!
