How to Put a Canvas in the Lid of a Planet Earth Jewelry Box: The Movie

Morgan Julia has a neat video explaining how to insert a finished canvas into the lid of one of the jewelry boxes that Planet Earth sells.  This works for the Lee brand boxes, too, and I think a blunt butterknife will work as well as the tool she has.

Queen Mary's Carpet

Queen Mary's carpet has been the subject of discussion on Needlepoint Nation recently, so I did a little searching to find this information about Queen Mary herself and her famous needlepoint rug.  Queen Mary is the grandmother of the current Queen Elizabeth II.  The rug itself was sold to raise money to pay off Britain's national debt after World War II.  It is currently in Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau but I can't find it on their website.  (Thanks for that, Christine!)

Doug Kreinik just visited Williamsburg, Virginia and made a little movie of the Haus Tirol and Stitching Well shop.  They specialize in cross stitch and samplers but they are a great visit for any needleworker who is at Williamsburg, especially during the festival holiday season.

Creating a Sequin Edge on Ornaments: The Movie

This Instagram video demonstrates how to use sequins to create edge trim around ornaments.  I think it is best for ornaments with fairly level edges on the canvas and backing or the sequins won't lay flat, however.
