Amy's Newsletter for April-May

The shop newsletter for Amy's Golden Strand is up on the shop website, ready for your reading pleasure.  And that's no April Fool's joke!  (Although I am a little skeptical about the new invisible Memory Thread from DMC....)

There are a lot of great book reviews to guide you in choosing just the right new volume for your stitching library, help mixing two threads to get just the right color, information about new shades of Burmilana to be introduced at the May trade show, and more!

Introducing the Half Tila

No, the half tila isn't a dive like the Half Gaynor with a Twist.   The half tila is a bead, a narrow rectangle bead with two holes that is actually half the size of a regular tila bead.   Palma Seljan used them on a border for her latest Lani collage and showed off pictures on Facebook, where I spotted them.  She got hers from Caravan Beads, so I did a little Googling so I could shave with 2000 of my closest friends.

Here is a bit more about the half tila.

Aren't we lucky to be living when so many things are available for our stitching pleasure?

UPDATE:  Robin says the link above gives an error message.  I have changed it but if that still doesn't work, try copy/pasting this non-hyper link.  Blogger may have made behind-the-scenes changes I can't see.  Thanks for the heads up, Robin!

Things to Consider if You are Framing Your Work

We of the Needle's blog shares framing tips for a stitcher who plans on having their work framed.  Although they do a lot of cross stitch and counted thread framing, many of their tips also apply to counted canvaswork.
