Breaking News: Gone Stitching Is Moving

Gone Stitching is moving to a new location, fairly close to the current shop. This is the email Renee is sending customers:

After 13 years at 31 South Washington Ave in Bergenfield, we have found a new home. Our new address will be 311 South Washington Avenue in Bergenfield. And no, that is not a typo. Clearly it was meant to be. Our phones will stay the same. The contractor is putting the finishing touches on the new beautiful store and then we will move. The plan right now is to make Thursday April 18 the last day in the shop now. We will be closed all of Passover. We will be setting up the new shop the following week, so we will remain closed. Our mail and packages will continue like normal during this time so do not worry about any finishing you may have out.

I can be reached at Renee@gonestitching.net while we are closed. We will keep everyone up to date. Please spread the word to those who may not be on our email list.

We wish the shop and its faithful customers many happy years in the new location.

Beep Beep (Spring Mystery Class from Ruth Schmuff)

Ruth's spring mystery class for 2019 features a darling Southwestern roadrunner from Dominic Bourbeau at Tapestry Fair.  The first class is the end of April.  Long distance students will get their lessons in the mail after each in person class or at the end, depending on their preference.  I'll update this article as Ruth shows off progress in each lesson.

UPDATES:

The first lesson of Beep Beep shows the eye and beak.  Ruth even posts a video about how to do the crescent stitch beak.

The bird has a tummy and there is cactus!

Now there are mountains and the road—all done in a family of stitches where stitching order is important for the overall look.

Here are two finished versions, framed in similar ways with different colors of the mats.

Using a Fabric Wrapped Mat in Framing

David Lantrip just posted in NP Nation about an article he wrote for Picture Framing Magazine.   And yes, David, stitched the canvas first.  His article starts on page 37.  Use the side arrows to go to that page.
