The ANG Auction Starts Feb. 15 and Ends Feb. 18

ANG's auction starts up again later this week.

I wasn't able to find any information about the website that will be used.  You may have to email the Auction chair for further information if you aren't a member of ANG.

If auctions aren't your thing, perhaps you'd like to support ANG's programs by purchasing one of their fund raiser charts?  Prices aren't listed so I expect you'll have to put something into a shopping cart to discover what it costs.

The ANG Online Auction Starts Tomorrow!

I grabbed this description of how it all works from the ANG Auction chair's post on Facebook.

"What happens in February? ANG Auction, that’s what! Once again, ANG will launch its Online Auction- this year it begins February 17 at 8:00 AM CT and ends February 24 at 10:00 PM CT.

We have belts, books, rugs, canvases, finished items, charts – did I mention belts? We have it all!

Anyone can bid! You don’t have to be a member of ANG (of course we would love it if you were)! Just go to ang.afrogs.org to start your shopping list. If you have bid in the past, your auction login is the same. If you are new to this, register and start shopping!

All proceeds go to support ANG and its mission to preserve the art of needlepoint through education. Don’t miss out on this stash enhancement opportunity!"

Good luck everyone!

Give to ANG Two Ways UPDATED

The American Needlepoint Guild's latest e-newsletter is available online. You can read it here.
http://needlepoint.org/newsletter.php#fromthepresident

I want to point out two parts of the newsletter to pay special attention to.  One is the section about the Golden Needle Society which is an ANG fundraiser.  If you love using the Stitch of the Month section of ANG's website or enjoy browsing the Exhibit photos on the website, why not send ANG a little thank you gift?  This is the way to show support for all ANG does, even if you don't want to commit to dues or belong to a chapter.

The other thing of interest is the ANG Auction section.  This fall during ANG's Seminar in New Orleans folks who aren't attending can still participate in the ANG Online Auction from between August 28-30.  All proceeds benefit ANG.
https://ang.afrogs.org/#/index

And naturally if you are an ANG member, you'll want to check out ANG's classes, volunteer with the organization or just buy a copy of the Ort Box with a Twist instructions.  You can get a PDF version or a hard copy.  Just fill out and return the Merchandise Form or follow the instructions here to fax in an order.
http://www.needlepoint.org/Merchandise/2013_ANG_Ort_Box_Order_Form_D.pdf

UPDATE:  I just heard from Marilyn Owen that her Ort Box with a Twist is no longer available via ANG so please don't send them the order form.  It'll just create a muddle. If you are interested, email Marilyn directly at SOTM@needlepoint.org. She'll happily sell you the chart.

ANG's First Mid-Year Auction

ANG's Auction is going to be held twice this year for the first time.  This was in the recent ANG newsletter:

"Plan to join us for the first ever Mid Year Auction! Open to anyone with access to a computer. The Auction goes live for bidding on Monday, April 18th and closes on Sunday, April 24th. With 150 or more painted canvases plus a few stitching accessories, we know members and friends alike will be able to find something special to bid on!!! The Auction will be held on ang.afrogs.org.

We hope to have the items available for pre-Auction viewing in the week prior to the start of the Auction--check in after April 10th to see if we made our deadline!!! Then come back to bid!! Items will be mailed out to the winning bidders within two weeks of the close of the Auction."
