Needle House Newsletter News

The Winter edition of Needle House's shop newsletter is now available. Nothing Screams Easter Like Sugar Eggs

Nothing says Easter to me more than sugar eggs.  We had these as children, covered in colored sugar and icing and edible if you didn't mind they'd been sitting out for a month.  Later on chocolate eggs became popular, which is understandable as they taste so much better.  Still, nothing beats a sugar egg for display!

Finishing Friday

Today on Finishing Friday I have a gorgeous floral on black pillow from a Tony Minieri class that is both fancy and restrained.  The finishing is also restrained and just perfect.   I think it is lovely.

Needle Nicely, true to their ocean front location, has a wonderful fish ornament wreath to show off.  The secret is in the finisher who makes those 3-D fins come alive!  The stitching is restrained here, too, making the fish shape the focus, not the stitching.

Ridgewood has a customer who had their own take on Easter egg canvases--instead of making them into oval stand ups, the finisher made little box shapes.  Unusual and very very pretty!

A Reminder from Nimble Needle

Nimble Needle shows off some of their older stock--the fabulous mini Fabrege eggs of Lee Designs. These were really popular in the mid-1990s but they are classic designs that will be lovely forty years from now.
