Ridgewood Needlepoint has their needlepoint belts on sale, and have posted closeup photos of them on their blog. Some belts have two photos so you can see all the designs.

Remember, belt canvases make great head bands, flip flop straps, shoulder bag straps, etc. Use your imagination and pick up a belt before the sale is over.

Liz and the Mad Miters

Liz Morrow
Sounds like a rock band, doesn't it? Mad Miters is actually the name of a bargello cyberclass Liz Morrow is going to teach for Cyberpointers, the online chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild. Liz's little article shows Mad Miters and has a link to information about the class.
http://lizartblog.blogspot.com/2012/04/mad-miters-again-again.html
It's my understanding that you don't have to be a member of ANG or of their Cyberpointers Chapter to take the class, but your class fee is smaller if you belong to ANG and smaller still if you are a Cyberpointers member.

Pepper Pot Silk UPDATED
Labels:
Pepper Pot Silk,
Planet Earth Fibers
Planet Earth has a new thread, a silk that is called Pepper Pot Silk. I haven't seen it myself, but it apparently about the diameter of Caron's Impressions and covers well on 18 count canvas. It doesn't look plyable. Janet Perry's done a review.

Here is the Pepper Pot Silk website with all the colors. Click on any thumbnail to see the skein in greater detail.
http://www.pepperpotsilk.com/
If your local shop doesn't carry this thread and you want a sample to play with, I've found one shop that carries it.

UPDATE: My spies report that Bedecked and Beaddazzled in Baltimore carries Pepper Pot Silk. Anyone else know other locations where it is available?

Shop Newsletter and Shop Closing/Changes

Needle Works in Austin has added their April newsletter to their website. You can see glimpses of new canvases (I'm going to be stitching one of those Leigh pieces), see their elephant monthly club, and read about the classes they plan and the threads they have on sale. Here's the link.
http://theneedleworks.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/201204newsletter.pdf
I've heard that Needlepoint Boutique in Plano, Texas is closing. They are having a sale right now. Their website hasn't been updated in a while but the address is still there if you happen to be in the area on a visit.

Sometime in the fall Chandail Needlework in Houston will also undergo changes. The owner is moving to Colorado so she will either sell the shop or try to run it long distance in a smaller format. Details here.

More Destination Dallas Goodies
Pocket Full of Stitches is posting more and more photos of the wonderful things they picked up at the Dallas trade show. Destination Dallas is a "cash and carry" show, so the shop probably just has one of each. There's a lot of variety here--something for everyone, in fact!
