Framing: Lacing, Pinning or Glue?

Brenda asked the ANG email list the eternal question: do you lace or glue your pieces when you have them framed?   Here are the answers she got.

The Magic That is Tony

The genius behind Eye Candy met the genius that is Tony Minieri and Cinderella's carriage started to roll....

I'm going to postpone publishing this in the hope that Cindy's smaller carriage is done quickly and you can see that, too.

Friday Finishing: It's Halloween! (with Pillows)

Aren't these little Halloween ornaments cute? I think the apple is from Kelly Clark and the others from Associated Talents but I am not certain.

Here are the pillows in the title.  They are fabulous!  I don't know who Enriched Stitch sends their pillows to but they are really talented.

Needlepoint Land has a series of cute customer pieces to show off.  I particularly like the Keep Calm double sided stand up.  Position it to let folks know how the day is going!

The Needlepointer has loop fringe available from their finishers.  Isn't this pretty?  I also think it looks like home with the soft, rag-rug colors.

Woodlawn Winners from 2014 and 2012 UPDATED

Since March 31st was the last day of the Woodlawn needlework exhibit, I did a little Googling to see if anyone has reported on the Best of Show winner. I came up with two hits--apparently the 2014 Best in Show winner was a "blackwork" piece.  There are no any photos of it I can find but you can see one of the blue ribbon winners (in the Surface Embroidery catagory) here.

I also stumbled across a photo of the 2012 Best in Show winner, which is a charming embroidery piece.  I actually saw this in person the last time I made it to the show.  The embroidery details among the letters and the flowers are very charming--they include a tiny snail, butterflies, a dragonfly, a lady bug, etc.  Click on the photo for a slightly better look.

Congratulations to all those who entered and all those who made it to the show!

UPDATE: I found a list from Woodlawn of all the folks who entered in 2014 with a list of any ribbons they won.  Apparently this was published in a program, presumably the one they hand out to visitors to the exhibit.

Snow Cones

Although "snow" is a dirty word in Chilly Hollow at this point, I was intrigued by the snow cone snowmen canvases Ridgewood was showing off on their blog.  The little snow faces with their elaborate cone hats would be a fun stitch for someone who needed whimsey in their lives.  I think these might be from CBK Designs but I am not certain.
