Ruth Kern's newest e-newletter is always a fun read but since this time she lists the most requested books of 2016--and there are several needlepoint books on the list--I thought you'd enjoy seeing the books on her Most Requested List.

Still Another Smart Cookie: Magnets Display Board
Bess just won the Smart Cookie Award this week with her use of this Ikea Magnetic Board to keep her needle minders in order.

"Skurar" seems to refer to a punched hole lace style of item. Ikea has a lot of things in this style available if you want to coordinate your stitching nest. Here is the magnetic board from the Ikea website.

A Needlepoint Profile of the Authors
Lycette Designs did a fun profile of the authors of Sophistication is Overrated by concentrating on their needlepoint shop background and love of our favorite needle art. You'll learn their favorite shops, that "belts are men's charm bracelets" and what they binge watch when stitching. Fun!

Since we also learned that their book about entertaining has a chapter on needlepoint, here's a link to learn more and perhaps buy yourself a copy if Santa didn't provide it.

Parade Magazine Discovers Needlepoint
Labels:
Alice Peterson,
magazines,
news,
Parade,
Tess and Thorn
The online version of Parade magazine has discovered needlepoint.

The link at the bottom (Launch Slideshow) of the article shows off commercial products from companies like Smathers and Branson. Very plain and basic stuff, but at least they noticed.

If you have an antique textile or a very special stitched piece that has been damaged in some way, this is a place to start finding help. It won't be cheap but treasures of our heart are worth the money to return them to good order.
