If you have been thinking about buying a small stand for a table or your lap so you can use both hands to stitch a canvas that is on stretcher bars, you will want to view Lisa Kessler's video on assembling and then using K's Creation's Adjustable Z Frame.
https://vimeo.com/189536455
If you don't have a favorite shop to order from, Lisa's store BeStitched has them in stock.

UPDATE: Cindy wrote me this about her K's lap frames—
"I have both the regular & Baby Z frames. Excellent product, as it folds almost completely flat with stretcher bars attached, and easy access to the back for finishing off. Works right- or left-handed. I've used up to 11" square Q snaps and stretchers on the Baby without tipping."

Many thanks, Cindy! That's helpful for those who are considering buying one of the lap frames from K's.

All That Glitters
Labels:
coloured twists,
Golden Hinde,
goldwork,
history,
metallics
With Hedgehog Needleworks closing so the owner can retire, goldwork stitchers need places to buy goldwork threads and supplies. Golden Hinde Goldwork, an English company, is ready to fill that gap. Since I think of New Year's as a time of sparkle and glitter, it seems appropriate to visit their online shop and learn a bit about goldwork today.
https://golden-hinde.co.uk/a-history/
Once you read the history, click on Shop to see the wonders the shop sells. Don't miss 3 Ply Twists in the Threads section. These are tiny metallic braids, very beautiful as a special touch on your embroidery. Couch them around an angel's halo, use them as Santa's coat trim, or decorate a Christmas tree or swag with these beauties.
Happy New Year! Here's to many beautiful threads in our future!

Robin Goes to Alabama
Robin King's travels have taken her to Montgomery, Alabama, one of the most charming Southern towns I've ever visited, and to the Needle Bug, which sadly I have not. Try not to drool on your keyboard while checking out the stitch guides Robin wrote for this class trip. And Robin has a stitch diagram of one of her original creations for us, too. Nice!

While teaching, Robin met Amy Poore of A Poore Girl Paints.

(You can drool over Amy's designs on her website.)

Thanks, Robin. We love hearing about your travels.
